Madeline Lydon

Madeline Lydon employs her multi-disciplinary energy, resilience, and resource policy specialization to develop actionable plans for utilities, regulatory agencies, and organizations.

In her role at Converge Strategies, Madeline guides stakeholders through resilience tabletop exercises and workshops to evaluate processes, identify challenges, and develop solutions for mitigating cyberattacks, physical incidents, and planning complexities.

Madeline previously worked at Xcel Energy, where she led their regulatory strategy for grid security. As the primary architect of the utility’s grid security docket, she led their participation in a Minnesota Public Utilities Commission-led workgroup focused on the secure and equitable sharing of distribution grid data for Distributed Energy Resource (DER) interconnection.

At the University of Minnesota’s Humphrey School, she led and contributed to client-based projects on resilient watershed management, policy storytelling, and sustainable procurement policy. She conducted research with the Peace Research Institute Oslo on the intersection of fossil fuel economies and international peace diplomacy, using Norway as a case study.
