Alex Pina
Alex Pina is a technical expert who has pioneered transformative innovations for energy resilience, critical infrastructure, and clean energy. He has developed several processes to identify critical infrastructure vulnerabilities, design cost-effective solutions, and secure project funding. This work has directly supported communities, cities, states, federal government agencies, and the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD).
In his work with the DoD, Alex created a framework for military installations to translate mission requirements into infrastructure projects to be made in their surrounding communities in partnership with utilities. He has expanded Converge Strategies technical practice and leads several projects focused on identifying resilience solutions to mitigate grid outages.
Before joining Converge Strategies, Alex invented an exercise program and analysis online tool for MIT Lincoln Laboratory that identifies vulnerabilities in energy infrastructure and compares the techno-economic benefits of energy resilience solutions that are required throughout DoD. While working in their Energy Systems Group, he created the energy resilience exercises and assessment approaches that are now required throughout the DoD. Previously, he founded a solar energy company focused on bringing utility-scale technology and efficiencies to the average homeowner.
