Nick Britton
Nick Britton applies his expertise in energy policy development to implement grid solutions that strengthen national security and fortify communities.
At Converge Strategies, Nick builds partnerships focused on shared energy resilience and security opportunities for defense communities, rural electric cooperatives, and federal agencies. He is skilled at delivering gap and capability assessments to determine the energy resilience investments that meet the unique needs of the region, bolster national security and provide economic benefits for local communities.
Prior to joining Converge Strategies, Nick worked at the Energy Futures Initiative (EFI) Foundation where he published several reports on federal policy recommendations related to market formation and community engagement for clean energy technologies in hard-to-abate sectors. His analysis of market trends, regulatory structures, and outreach with government, industry, and community stakeholders directly supported policy outcomes for clean hydrogen and carbon management technologies at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).
During graduate school, Nick worked with Clean Tomorrow, to analyze state and local tax policy, investments, and stakeholder engagement across several U.S. states to develop a framework for state policymakers to increase community benefits from clean energy project development.
Nick also conducted research for the Arthur L. Irving Institute for Energy and Society exploring COVID-19’s impact on regional transmission organizations and U.S. electricity markets.
