WASHINGTON, D.C. — Monday, February 24, 2025 — Converge Strategies, LLC announced that Will Rogers, former U.S. Army Senior Advisor and Congressional National Security Advisor, has joined its team. Will joins Converge Strategies, LLC after 15 years of dedicated government and civil society service focused on driving national defense strategies, policies, and initiatives.

“Will is a singular force at the intersection of infrastructure resilience and national security,” said Michael Wu, CEO and Co-Founder of Converge Strategies. “From Capitol Hill to the Pentagon, Will has brought thoughtful and incisive approaches to these issues. We’re thrilled for him to continue and expand that work as a part of our team.”

As the first individual ever to hold the position of Senior Climate Advisor to the Secretary of the Army, Will advised senior leaders on mechanisms to leverage the Department of the Army’s $165 billion buying power to strengthen U.S. critical infrastructure that enables the warfighting mission. At Converge Strategies, Will remains dedicated to supporting energy resilience and infrastructure deployment for U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) installations and defense communities.

“Energy resilience is vital to our national defense, from the backup generation that powers the no-fail missions on installations to the transmission grid that is essential to deploying forces from fort to port,” said Will Rogers, Principal at Converge Strategies. “I’m incredibly proud to join Converge Strategies and its mission of ensuring that resilience and national security are first principles in America’s energy transformation, and I look forward to drawing on my experience to support the team’s extensive portfolio of projects, partnerships, and ideas to align energy investments with national defense.”

Before joining the Department of the Army, Will spent nearly a decade on Capitol Hill, serving as the Deputy Legislative Director and National Security Advisor to Senator Brian Schatz of Hawaii. Will authored several national security bills that he helped Senator Schatz, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee and Senate Foreign Relations Committee, enact into law. Will’s policy expertise at the intersection of energy, resilience, and national security extends the depth of Converge Strategies’ practice focused on deploying resilient energy solutions.

Will specializes in connecting and aligning national security innovators across the federal government, state and local government, academia, and industry. He remains focused on equipping the DoD to engage more directly with electric grid planning and transmission development to support critical defense missions.

Will is an adjunct professor in the Johns Hopkins University Global Security Studies program, where he lectures on national security. Will is also an adjunct senior fellow at the Center for a New American Security, a nonpartisan national security think tank, where he supports the center’s climate and energy security research.
